Free as a bird came about one day, whilst the artist was walking through London and was surprised and disturbed by the continuous discovery of chicken bones found all over the urban soil. The memory of those images, recalled in him, that famous Beatles’ song: Free as a Bird. Thus, the title, while glorifying the song tends to upset its meaning. The ideals of peace and freedom of today are more and more embodied by everyday consumer food, produced and packaged for a rapid consumption. The typical sandwich made in the USA, topped with sesame but stuffed with the dove of peace, recalls the aesthetics of fast-food logos, whilst its simple yet endearing shape may pleasantly attract the hypothetical consumer.
